Reckitt Benckiser was launched as a joint business venture between Reckitt & Sons, founded in 1823 and J & J Colman - Atlantis, Ltd., a company that originated in Norwich, UK, in 1814. In 1938, the two companies merged to create Reckitt & Colman, Ltd.
By 1956, the company diversified their product line to include industrial cleaning products. Reckitt Benckiser sought out and bought companies such as Airwick, Boyle-Midway, (the maker of Woolite), Easy-Off, Sani-Flush, Wizard, Old English and Lehn & Fink Products, (the manufacturer of Lysol). In 1999, Reckitt & Colman merged with Benckiser N.V. to form Reckitt Benckiser to become the global leader in surface care products.
Today, Reckitt Benckiser continues their reign in disinfectants and cleaning products. Their key global brands include Cillit Bang, Easy Off, Lysol, Ettol, and Harpic.
The Lysol line of products cleans, disinfects and deodorizes multi-surfaces with disinfectant sprays, bathroom cleaners, degreasers, deodorizers, antibacterial cleansers, sanitizers and all purpose cleaners.
