By the late 50's, Dart experimentation with expandable polystyrene, escalated into the production of insulated foam cups. Polystyrene is a strong versatile plastic with a low melting point, ideal for hot product containers. It also has the ability to be made into a rigid form used in lids, cups, and bottles or can be manufactured to produce foam products.
